At Naas CBS and in the spirit of Edmund Rice, we cherish and welcome students of all faiths and beliefs, at every level of ability, of any nationality or ethnic grouping and of any sexual orientation or gender identity. We believe that every student deserves a safe and supportive environment where they can thrive personally, socially and academically.
Edmund Rice schools are centres of love and inclusion where every person is cherished and supported. Edmund Rice schools have a moral and legal responsibility to ensure that each student receives an education free from discrimination and bullying irrespective of their sexual orientation and gender identity. Naas CBS’s commitment to LGBTQIA+ inclusion is foundational to our values and mission. We recognise that fostering an inclusive atmosphere not only benefits our LGBTQIA+ students but enriches the entire school community by promoting understanding, respect, and empathy among all individuals.
Since the inception of Stand Up Awareness Week in 2021, we have seen a welcome and remarkable growth in our students’ awareness and appreciation of diversity. This annual initiative encourages students to engage in discussions about respect and tolerance, helping to dismantle stereotypes and challenge prejudice. Through workshops, activities, and open dialogues, we create opportunities for students to learn from one another, embrace differences, and celebrate the unique identities that each individual brings to our school.
