Coiste Gaelbhratach
This year the CBS are taking part in the Gaelbhratach Scheme 2024-2025. The objective of the scheme is to promote the use of Irish outside of the formal classroom setting with the goal of earning a Gaelbhratach (Irish flag) at the end of the year.
The Gaelbhratach scheme is student led through the Coiste Gaeilge (Irish committee). The Coiste will be organising many fun events throughout the year through Irish. So far, we have had great interest in the Coiste. We have students of all ages and levels who share a passion for the language. We have a few roles left to fill on the Coiste, in particular we are looking for students with an interest in digital media video making, social media and art. The Coiste has organised board games as Gaeilge in the library on Tuesday 15th October at lunchtime for 1st years. All are welcome!
As part of the scheme, the Coiste has an instagram page and a padlet to help document our journey and spread our pride and grá for the language in the community.

Yesterday, three of our 6th year students traveled to the mórcheardlann in Carlow. Here they received training and brainstormed ideas on how to run the Coiste.
We look forward to the action packed year ahead for the Coiste.
