Somewhat of a tradition in the school now, the ninth annual Old Lions Young Lions Debate pits past and current students against each other. Our Old Lions this year were past students David Scanlon, Daniel Mooney and Conor Bergin. Our Young Lions were transition years, Eoghan Stynes, Adam Halford and Billy Egan.
This year’s motion was ‘Reality TV does more harm than good’ with the Young Lions proposing and the Old Lions opposing. The audience were treated to some lively debate which was monitored by our chairperson, third year student, Daniel Connolly and our timekeeper, Andrew O’ Grady , also from third year. Our adjudicators were sixth year students, Cormac Egan, Ernest Zuks and Andrew Robertson.
When the verdict arrived, the motion was defeated and the Old Lions were this year’s champions.
